Digital Hearing Aids. Need Help Please.
15 Answers
I have 2 digital hearing aids and need help with how to use them. I do not understand how the loop works, for example and when you use it. Similarly, i dont know to use it if you are in a noisy environemt that picks up everthing eg. Loud noises picking up everything like knives and forks and all the cluncking and scraping. I know I could master the use of these hearing aids, if only I had the right istructions and explainations. So I am hoping their are some hearing aid veterans out there who could assist me. Apologies if I have posted in an incorrect section. Anyway TIA.

chrissie.....I don't have a hearing aid and i hope that someone who has practical experience will come along.
I would suggest that as they have a Loop system, they are private and expensive ones, unless thew NHS provides digital H.As with Loop systems.
Now a hearing aid will just amplify sound both wanted and unwanted so in noisy surroundings, it may well be better to turn them off.
However if the premises provide a Loop setup. the turning to "T" notch will go into the Loop system and improve your reception by cutting out the ambient sound.
Some one with practical knowledge will come along chrissie.

If your hearing aids are from Specsavers and are Siemens you should have been given a full set of instructions and a proper demonstration when they gave you them, what make did they give you? You really should go back to see them Christie pronto or you will put them in a drawer and forget them, amazing the number of people who do that, good luck rosy
I thought modern digital hearing aids were designed to cut down on interference from background noise. My son's certainly do. Also, if the hearing aids are new and properly adjusted, do you need the loop? If you are having real problems I agree with earlier posts, go back to where you got them and get a hands on explanation.
