My Amazon Fire tablet has developed a fault, when I attempt to listen to an already broadcast radio programme on bbc iplayer it stops after less than a minute. No problem listening to live broadcasts so wifi okay. Any suggestions as to how I can remedy this? Thanks

Perhaps, you can try reinstalling the BBC app? Since the wifi signals are good and you have no problems listening to other broadcasts, it's definitely not a device issue.
