Trying to find a new doorbell, with these criteria:

Wireless
2 chiming units
1 mains, 1 battery
Need to be able to CHANGE frequencies - fed up answering our door when someone opens their car (or whatever!)

Any ideas?

I have a 1byOne. Seems ok. Picked up next doors when they bought one but after re-syncing it is fine.

How do you resync (which I take it means change frequencies)?

I've checked out the model suggested by Douglas on various websites (because it's sold by Wickes, Homebase and others) and I can find no reference to it being a multi-channel device.

This is though:

and I've checked out the model suggested by Chris and I find no reference to there being two chiming units...!
^^^ Good point! (Also no mains-powered unit).

I must learn to read the WHOLE of a post :(

It's actually looking extremely tricky to find something that will tick ALL of the boxes.
I bought a 1byOne system from Amazon a couple of years ago that you could expand with additional chiming units (mains or battery) that DID have changeable frequencies...but they appear to no longer stock them. Sod's law at work!

Shame about the Amazon one, although at £70 it would be the dearest door knocker I’d ever bought.

Maybe YMB will come back and explain how he solved the problem.

I.’ve found a Friedland that fits the bill, although the £80+ doesn’t. Maybe it’ll last a long time!
Question Author
Just to wrap up this thread, as YFB hasn't come back with his magic solution...

Friedland are 'obsolete' according to the manufacturer, so if you do find one, at whatever inflated price, it probably won't last.

Their replacements are Honeywell, which do one called 'Home & Garden Kit', but that too is around £60, hardly a bargain.

The makers of my 1byone bell came back from China saying I could try taking the batteries out of the bellpush and the battery-receiver unit, put them back in again, and press the bell, and that 'should' re-pair and get round the problem. I'll let you know!
