Mobile Phone Playing Up....

Help, please, my mobile phone (fairly old Apple ) won't open when I try to slide the open bar ....it goes about halfway then goes back to the original position ...any ideas please

try holding the power button and the off button at the same time will turn off the phone and reset its self then turn on the phone again
