A couple of years ago I asked about this on a different TV - can someone explain (in simple terms as I am elderly) what to do? Cannot seem to alter bass and treble.
I went into sound and there were various options so I set it to standard and the clearvoice to low and set to of other options.
There is an adjustment on a scale which shows across 100hz 200hz 500hz 1khz 2khz 5khz 10khz. Now.......some time ago this forum told me to make plus/minus adjustments on some of these to improve the bass/treble but cannot remember which ones - could anyone explain this again please?
Also, because I use the TV as a monitor only having a Humax PVR attached by a HDMI cable I have the PVR sound set to near max and adjust the sound on the TV volume as needed.
I am getting some vibrations in sound when there is loud background music on a program but generally the sound is adequate. I tend to have my sound quite low most of the time as I live in a flat.
Last time when I altered these 100,200.500 etc thingees there was a vast improvement. Any help would be most welcome - especially regarding the volume settings on the PVR as opposed to the TV.

In any "chained" system where amplification is involved, it's better to have a modest input and adjust the output for best level. I would start off by setting the PVR to around 50%, and see if the TV can then give the required volume. If it doesn't, then increase the PVR output little by little until the TV can give the level you want.

Thanks for that 4candles - I could not find it! I will try the suggestions of this Sony TV and make a note of what Rojash said about bass, midrange and clarity. See how it works.
Any other suggestions regarding setting the PVR volume?

Thanks 4candles and everyone else who replied. I found the original details I was given a few years ago on this forum and went about setting up the bass, midrange and clarity + or - these until I got a good sound without any vibrations. This then altered considerably the number I used on the TV remote to get the sound level I wanted.
Instead of about 23 for normal listening it is now between 8 and 10. I did this by altering the PVR sound as you suggested and it is now at an optimum 75% and this gives me a much better sound all round with improved clarity when the programme has quiet speech.
Thanks again

Great news - happy listening!
