iI dont have broadband and was wondering if I could get internet to my i-pad via my dongle? Thank you.

Yes you can but it could be convoluted initially.
You could put your dongle sim card in to a mobile broadband wifi device like this:

You could connect your smartphone to the dongle and turn the phone's wifi hotspot on and connect the iPad to that. Keep your smartphone plugged in as it is a battery drainer

Just a thought - is your iPad a wifi only model? No support for a SIM card?
