Every time I close the case on my IPad, it turns off my WiFi and I have to log in all over again. It’s really annoying! Is it to do with the new update, or have I touched something in Settings to trigger it?
Thanks

Does this happen if you turn it off and leave it out of the case?
The problem may be the case and not the iPad.
Are you using an iPad Smart Cover or is it just a standard case?

It is an ordinary cover, magnetic closure, but all was OK until a week or so ago after the last upgrade.
Even though it's an ordinary cover, it seems as if it's putting your iPad to sleep whenever you close it (which is what a Smart Cover does). Try going to Settings > Display & Brightness and turning off Lock/Unlock.
my smart cover puts my ipad to sleep but it doesn't turn off my wifi....do you mean it turns off your wifi or do you mean it locks the ipad so you have to put your passcode in?

I get no connection. It is as if I have turned WiFi off!
I have had a look on my ipad and can't find anything that would do this. Do you have to log in to your router (hub) again or unlock your ipad or log in to apple again?
You could have updated the IOS to a version that turns wifi off during sleep to save battery
This fix works for some but not all and is counter intuitive.
Turn on Airplane Mode then turn wifi back on

Thank you Bertram, I’ll give it a go.
You could try holding the sleep button and the big button at the bottom together for a few seconds until the Apple sign shows on the screen. It’s a soft re-set.

Think I’ve solved it! I think someone has been trying to hack into my iPhone and iPad via Candy Crush! I played the other day and a screen came up saying I had a ‘play buddy’! The screen then went dark and I turned it off. Have just deleted Candy Crush and the problem has righted itself! Now, how do I get CC back without ‘the buddy’!
don't know but change your password.
Question Author
Thank you all for your help. Taking off Candy Crush and changing passwords has cured the problem.
