Questions about new printers come up here frequently, as do questions from people experiencing problems with their printers.
Based upon reading them all for over a decade, it seems to me that the most popular brand of printer among AB members (and the one that people have the fewest problems with) is Canon. I certainly wouldn't buy an Epson printer myself.
The advice which I've frequently given to people here (and which has often been echoed by other AB members) is that it can work out a lot cheaper in ink costs to buy a printer that uses separate cartridges for each ink colour, rather than just one. You also get the best quality printing through using a printer that uses two different types of black ink for printing images and text. Such printers tend to be expensive though. However PC World currently have the excellent Canon Pixma MG5750 (which is the updated version of the MG5350 which I use myself) at half price and, if I was in your position, it's definitely what I'd go for. (It's also cheaper than ANY of their Epson printers):
