Nikon Coolpix P50 Camera Reset

Question in the title really, found above camera in the back of a draw! Forgot I even had it, so put new batteries in, but it will not turn on. Any ideas? Is there a reset procedure. Checked online manual, but couldn't find anything useful there.

It may be that the internal battery (the one that remembers the date and custom settings etc) has also died. In which case, you’d need to have a camera shop put a new one in.

OK Zacs thanks. Dont think its worth the cost of a camera shop looking at it. Will have a go myself at having a look inside a bit later. Will let you know how I get on.

Does it have a memory card. Some cameras won't turn on without a card.

Readin the manual it says it takes 10 hours for the clock battery to charge.

OK story so far, relatively easy to get to internal battery, few screws and visible with back removed (not buried in the depths). Without external batteries removed, internal battery (marked as 3v) shows 2,7v , with external batteries in, internal battery shows 2,91v which is almost the same as voltage across external batteries 2,92v. So will leave it overnight and see what happens, and maybe try some fresh Duracell's in the morning.
P.S. internal battery is not easily replaceable as the camera feeds are welded to the battery terminals.

All screwed back together and working. lol. far to complicated though for me, I used to love 35mm. lol
