I am thinking of buying a Panasonic TX-49FS352B LED TV.

The problem being I wish to connect a DVD player/recorder and a VCR player to the TV, which at the moment are connected via Scart Sockets and the new TV has only HDMI sockets.

Can one buy cables that convert Scart to HDMI?

I believe they're different data systems sobyou need more than a simole cable, you need a converter. https://www.amazon.co.uk/slp/scart-to-hdmi-converter/7neumtfyxgy89a2
SO YOU !!!!!
SIMPLE !!!!!
As I posted on a previous AB thread asking a similar question :

"One point - you need more than a 'lead' to transfer SCART to HDMI - you need a converter box like this :

Amazon.co.uk User Recommendation

People will try to sell you bits of cable with a SCART socket on one end and an HDMI plug on the other - they probably won't work at all - and certainly won't work reliably (or give you a watchable picture)."
If you want to use your VCR you don't have much choice but to buy a SCART to HDMI converter. However, in the case of the DVD player, you'd probably be better of replacing it with a modern one, which will cost you around 30 quid.

It is not just a DVD player, it is a DVD player/Recorder with a hard drive, something that you can't now buy new for some reason.
