Sony Digital Picture Frame.

Hi. My picture frame is just showing a completely black screen no menus etc, I have tried resetting it using a pin to press recessed reset button but not made any difference, the green power light on the side of the frame is flashing continually so must be getting power.
What concerns me is we have over a thousand irreplaceable photos on there, and am wondering if even the photo frame cannot be repaired could the photographs still be saved to a memory stick somehow. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks..

A fault with the display function of a digital photo frame is unlikely to impact upon its ability to store photos, so your images should still be there (and fully accessible).

I assume that you got the images onto the device by connecting it to a PC with a USB cable. If so, it should be just as easy to move images in the opposite direction. So connect the device to your PC/laptop with a USB cable. If a dialogue box appears, asking you what you want to do, select 'Open folder to view contents'. (If you don't see a dialogue box, go to 'Computer' and look to see if the device is shown there as an external drive. Assuming it is, double-click on it).

You should then be able to drag-&-drop (or copy-&-paste) files which are on the device to anywhere you choose on your PC/laptop's hard drive, or to a USB pen drive attached to it, in the same way that you can move any other files around with Windows.

Thank you. The photos were loaded by inserting memory card from camera into the frame, will try your suggestion and let you know how we get on. fingers crossed!!

The photos should still be on the memory card, try reading the card on your computer through a card reader.

Once the photos are loaded on to the frames non removable memory the card is formatted and used again in camera. Will keep trying though got usb lead on the way from amazon..
