Any simple solutions to my Samsung deciding it can no longer send texts?

Is there a reset button of any sort?

You live in a wooded valley and the reception is bad?
Sorry, try this:
Open the Settings app and go to “Message”
Locate the switch for “Send as SMS” and turn this to the ON position (if send as SMS is already on, try turning it off for about 10 seconds and then turn it back on again)
Return to Messages and try sending the text message again.

By the way, presuming your Samsung is a smartphone, you will be able to get an app to play radio stations. Buy a blootooth speaker and, effectively, you have an internet radio. The new BBC Sounds app is excellent.
Text problems are usually related to the way that a phone interacts with the service provider's system. A quick call to your service provider (EE, Vodafone or whoever) is probably all that's required to get them to reset things at their end.
