Scam?

I've had a few mystery phone calls lately from unfamiliar numbers and wondered if a scam was going on, the phone rings just once and stops before you can pick it up. I'm wondering what I would get charged if rang the number back, today it was from a 07999 number, previously it's been from 084 numbers. Any thoughts welcome.

We had that and were advised to join the Robinson List , please Google as it explains it better than I can, and we have had no problem since.

Call centres have technology to ring dozens of numbers simultaneously, then a human operator goes through and sees which have an answer, and then goes into whatever spiel they are delivering.

It's best to simply ignore them.

ignore it, block the number if you can..but they also voip system from call centers abroad all scams, they also change there number constantly..example other day phone rang computer voice says this is bt youe line is going to be disconnected or some other spiel...err im not with bt, or you will get the ones who know your last name..wantoing you to take a survey..ie fishing for info or to confirm info they think they have..again ignore block number.

It's a scam!!! Once you dial that number you've created a connection to the outside world and could face frightening bills,or worse. It's a popular and very easy scam!! Stay away!!
