desktop not loading 6 reboots
3 Answers
occasionally when i do a fresh boot my desktop would not load - this was quickly fixed by a reboot but just now i did 6 reboots-i had to switch the pc off manually as only the start taskbar button and my av were loaded and nothing else, eventually i got it going in safe mode "start windows normally"
i do not want this frustration again -what is causing it? and what can i do to prevent it?
i have not added any new software/hardware to cause these effects
thx

"New Task"
type
explorer.exe
and click OK - does this make your desktop appear?
I'm just trying to clarify what the problem is here and then you'll be able to get a proper (permanent) solution.
This type of thing is normally down to new software installed or some kind of update to existing software.

this sounds very similar to a spyware problem i had that makes all the icons disappear from the desktop.
do ctrl/alt/delete and look for a prog called 'sysu.exe' - if its present, end prog and voila your icons should appear
if this prog is there then it needs removing properly so please re-post and i'll put the full solution rather than typing something that may be of no help at this stage !
today was fine no probs(which i was expecting), originally i did try ctl/alt /del - but it wouldnt even bring task manager up,
checked msconfig and only my av and firewall are selected - nothing else, however i have spyware synet.exe-i have had this for ages unticked and my av has quarantined this a long long time ago
i think it was just a tempremental prob
thanks
