i applied to advantage loans for aloanfor �500irecived a letter sayin i had been accepted bythe company. advantage wrote saying i had to send �49.50 which i borrowed on the strenth off the acceptance letter. instead of posting a cheque i phoned advantage and fasttracked the money by calling 08700 278593 gave my debit card details they then told me i would recive a letter for me to sign and send back. the letter never arrived i phone advantage back on tele num 08700 278 593 and was told they hadnt recived the �49.50. they askedfor my debit card num again to take the fee .which i gave them and was told that i would recive a letter and i had to sign send back then the �500 would be in my account in 3 working days. the �49.50 payment as been took but no letter arrived. today i phonedadvantage to see why the letter hadnt arrived and was told they hadnt collected the fee.which i no has been debited they then gave me a number to call 0871 4345552 but itwas closed. still i ave to loan,cash or lettersaying what to do next or even when ill get the loan i am on benifits and really struggled to get the fee monies im even more in debt than before i rung advantage would someone please help and tell me what to do next. i would be thankfull for any help big or small thank you miss h plant

Well, a while ago i sent off �49.50 to Advantage Loans and they sent me a letter which i duly signed and returned. Never heard anything from them after that and never got my money back either.

They are complete con-artists so i would try and get your money back if i were you. Seem to remember a peice about them on Watchdog a few months back, They might still have something about it on the BBC website if you try that.

I'm very sorry to tell you this but this company are not a lender they are merely agents who say they will try and find you a loan from their "contacts" for a fee. Read closely the form you signed and all will become clear. I'm afraid they are just another company preying on people they know cannot get a loan from reputable sources. Essentially they do what you could just as easily do yourself, i e go through the lenders. They will then say that they cannot find a lender that will take your case on and the "fee" was theirs for trying. I'm sorry you found out this way. Look at it this way, why do you want to take on more debts you can't pay? Ok you need �500 how much can you pay each month? save the latter until you have the former. Imagine you actually get a loan the rates will be astronomical trust me �50 was cheap to not be up to your neck in it.
