Signing Into Bbc Iplayer
7 Answers
Not sure whether to post this in "TV" or "Tech", but decided to choose the latter. Anyway .... I get the bit about having to sign in to Iplayer now, but had a problem last night. We wanted to watch something on BBC Iplayer last night, but when we got to the "home page" on our TV (not a smart TV, or at least we don't think it is), it said "you now have to sign in to BBC Iplayer, please use this link (www.bbc.com/account/tv) and use a password (which I've noted down). Obviously, there's no keyboard on the TV to do this, so we're stuck and now can't watch Iplayer unless we can sort it out. We tried doing this on one of our other e.devices (my ipad), but of course it didn't work. Can anyone out there help us to get us watching bbc Iplayer again on our TV (non-"smart" we believe). The Iplayer website didn't seem to help very much .... would really appreciate some guidance, many thanks, cheers, Chox.

'Non-smart' TV sets simply receive signals through the aerials attached to them and BBC iPlayer services aren't transmitted that way. Your iPlayer service MUST be coming through your router (and not via your aerial) and that's only possible with a 'smart' TV.
