Hi, I am wondering whether if there is asbestos in old singer sewing machines? Is there any in the foot pedal washers?

Please don't tell me to take the machine in for testing as I prefer to do that as a last resort. Serious answers only please.

Wouldn't have thought so, unless it is bonded in an early plastic or rubber compound In this case it would be safe. If you are still unsure contact Singer who will have records.

Whilst I do not know, I have difficulty imagining why they would. Hardly needs insulation. But if you don't open them you won't come into contact with the contents anyway.
