When I power of and on my IPad, I'm asked for passcode enter it, enter and it returns to where I was.

It asked for his apple email and password to which is doesn't now recognise! So he's stuck!
Mmm. Sounds strange. No mischievous kids/grandkids who could have activated ‘find my iPhone’?
Question Author
No one has touched it except himself!
Sounds like a visit to your local Apple shop then.
Looked at apples website in surport, nothing really useful there, except take it to your local Apple Store. But site does have a chat surport line, if you have another device to connect to internet.
Almost certainly some sort of browser hijack and they now have your appleid and password. Id follow the info here sharpish https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT204145
Which you must have, otherwise you wouldn't be on Answerbank Doh.
This happened to a relatives ipad.

I'm still not sure how I managed to get past it - it may have cured itself - I was almost at the stage of wiping it to cure it.

I had tried connecting it to the computer and iTunes. I think I then used another program iExplore to backup the photos etc.

I might have even changed the AppleId password.

Good luck.
Fitzer - its not a browser hijack - this happens when you turn on the ipad.
