Strange Behaviour
7 Answers
My nanna who is in her ninetys has developed a strange behaviour. As she puts a cup to her mouth she no longer drinks from the centre of her lips...... She puts the cup to the left side of mouth then sips then immediatly slides the cup to the right side then sips then puts the cup down. Any idea why she does this??

One was able to tell me that he had sore spots in his mouth and we were able to sort that...stopping the home giving him Salt and Vinegar crisps for tea every night helped..... :-)
The other my mum....well she could tell me nothing so whether she also had some sore spots from dentures not fitting as well as she aged and got smaller ..... or whether it was one of her odd Alzheimer's habits I don't know......can your nanna's mouth be checked?...x

Probably because she's found she likes doing it, bless her.
My Nan takes a bite of her rich tea or malt biscuit, now often says "Mmmm, that's lovely" then puts the rest of it into her cup of tea, let's it dissolve, then drinks it. She only just started doing this ...as she always used to dunk.....but always has a smile on her face....she's 95. ☺
I wouldn't worry about it, if indeed you are, markb......put it down to a sweet Granny trait.
