How To Open A Winmail.dat File
3 Answers
Please will someone explain to an 82 year old Luddite in simple terms how to open winmail.dat files or convert them to Word documents. I am at my wits' end, having tried twenty times this afternoon. I am now going to have a cup of tea and a long, hot Radox bath. I am running Windows 7. Very many thanks!

You have to get the person who sent you the email it came with to resend their email in a different format. However you could try downloading this executable file:

Running it will install an application called Winmail Reader. Then follow the instructions here:

Buenchico. very many thanks for all you have done for me AGAIN! Sadly, I was still unable to open the file. Some of my fellow trustees struggled, but I am the only one left who could not open it. I have arranged for a hard copy, which is all very well until the next time!
My grateful thanks, as always.
