can information technology help a company develop new business? What will the impact of IT be in the future?

without it, there is no such thing as business sure you could have a telephone and lots of filing but imo it is all much easier to manage via a pc, so yes you need it, which can help you develope a business if used correctly, as for the future no-one knows, we see things move very fastly as far as it goes, computers are now several hundereds of times more powerfull than they were just 5 years ago, and their importance has even greater increased.
