Hi all - I heard that having 2 firewalls installed on a PC can do more harm than good. Norton Internet Security has a firewall, would it matter if the built-in firewall on my router is on aswell? Thanks in advance for your valued help.

I believe that a hardware firewall (as in your router) and a software firewall (such as Nortons) will not conflict.

The advice you have been given is for software firewalls - ie make sure that if youare running XP, the XP firewall is turned off and don't run McAfees firewall as well.

It is only 2 antivirus progs that would conflict - there's no problem whatsoever in having 2 firewalls (apart from memory usage). I'd probably recommend using this hardware and software combination.
