dead mouse smell?

Help! There is a very strange and unpleasant smell in my kitchen. Have looked behind skirting board and appliances but found nothing. Local builder doesnt know either and it's not drains or blocked pipes. Am at wits end and fear a dead mouse but cant locate it. Any advice much appreciated. Thanks
