Outlook Mail Problems

On my iPad I suddenly cannot receive mail. Message at bottom reads "outlook is out of date please upgrade".
I can still receive messages on my smartphone ok on Outlook. Same app!
How can I upgrade on iPad please. Simple language please!

This post, on an unofficial page for Outlook assistance, suggests that you just search for 'Outlook' on the app store and click 'Update'

whereas this post, on Microsoft's official site, suggests that you might need to uninstall, and then reinstall, the Outlook app:

If you urgently need to receive email on your iPad then, while you're trying to find a fix for the app problem, you can still do so by accessing your email provider's website with Safari (or whatever other browser you use).

My outlook app on my iPad was last updated on 2nd July 2019. However, I have automatic updates turned on. Go to Settings>iTunes & App Store(left hand side)>Apps (right hand side) put the toggle to ‘ON’(green) and then your apps will automatically update and you should not get this problem.
