Get Touchpad To Work

HI, technophobe here so patience needed, my touchpad won`t let me click on it was working Saturday but just stopped,don`t know if i did something wrong, any ideas it`s windows 7 if that matters ?

Windows 7 might matter but the make and model of the laptop matters more :-)

Well I don't have a Windows machine but it appears that you can disable & enable the touch pad on Toshibas by pressing the F9 key while holding down the Fn key https://www.techwalla.com/articles/how-to-disable-the-touchpad-on-a-toshiba-laptop

Press the “F9” key while continuing to hold down the Fn key to disable the touchpad. Find the “F9” key toward the top of your keyboard. Repeat this process to enable the touch pad.
