Please can anyone give me help or advice. I have a Humax box for recording tv programmes. Sometimes the recording goes off just before the end ( annoying). And sometimes parts of the programme go whizzing through so I can't understand it. The machine is few years old. Do I need a new one, or can anything. Be done? Many thanks

Some channels don't use the system which tells Humax boxes if their programmes are running slightly late, so people can find that the ends of programmes are getting cut off. (Yesterday is known to cause such problems, so it's possible that other UKTV channels might be similarly affected). To be sure of not missing the end of programmes, it's always best to add some 'padding':

I'm not sure about the other part of your problem though. That might well suggest that there's a problem with the box itself. If you don't get any help here, try this dedicated forum:

Thanks for your advice. The first part about padding, I will look into. The s cond part, well I read the forum, and some people have said they bought a new hard drive! That cuts me out! I am thick as a plank.
the odd prog will cut a few mins/seconds short, mines done that for years but only maybe once twice a year dont bother with padding time if will affect all your progs down to record so you will have more problems ,do a factory reset but DONT click format hard drive (thats where all your recorded progs are stored
