This Is A New Take On Mental Issues
A man runs amok in the USA killing and stabbing several people and a Police Lt states' this man is full of anger'. If the crimes were not so heinous that understatement is almost laughable.
Is it the new default response to, 'suspect believed to be suffering mental issues'?
He could of added, 'this man was quite dangerous'

Since recent ISIS inspired attacks in Europe, including the UK,It was always the default phrase that police rushed out to the press when describing the perpetrators. Anything other than the true reason behind the motives. Now we have , 'an angry man'. I suppose Adolf could be described, by some, as an angry man!

If I read retro's post correctly, knowing of his track record for demeaning individuals who have or still do have issues regarding mental health - he is unhappy at the notion that the authorities appear to be offering 'suffering from mental health issues' as a catch-all excuse for psychotic behavior.
It's not, and they don't, but as I say, this is what I read from what retrocop is saying, based on his past posts concerning this area.

All I was saying that after leaving a trail of murder and mayhem it sounded particularly lame and trite to say the perpetrator was 'an angry man'. A person could be described as angry that his car had picked up two punctures.

Why can't you simply answer the post instead of tacking on your usual rudeness?
It is tedious to other AB'ers, the way you continue to use threads as your personal abuse platform - it derails threads and can lead to other consequences.

When the Nice lorry atrocity occurred along with various other kindred crimes in Germany and other parts of Europe the stock answer immediately given out to the media by the respective law agencies of those countries was 'the perpetrator is believed to have mental issues' when it was patently obvious that all the perpetrators were from the Middle East or North Africa and the true motives were later confirmed by their ISIS membership.
The continuation of this initial description became a subject of derision on AB and some stated that all Moslems had mental issues.
If Mr Hughes was honest with himelf I am sure he actually said any one who commits terrorists attacks must have mental issues in any case.
It was however a convenient catch all phrase to give out to the press.
