Mobile Data Not Working

When my phone is not connected to any Wi-Fi and my Mobile Data is switched on (when I'm out and about) - why can I not look up the internet or receive emails/WhatsApp messages? I've got plenty of data every month.
I have a Sony Experia mobile - is there something else I need to change in my settings? Thank You!

Might not be to do with data usage. Sometimes when you're out and about network connection may be out of range.

Are you on 4G?

im with network 3 and its a crap signal for calls and data round where i am, it works better if you change back to 3g in settings the 3g signal is stronger

I don't actually know if I'm on 4G or not! My signal is pretty rubbish for receiving calls and texts at times.

If you’re on 4G, it will say ‘4G’ at the top of the screen somewhere. You can’t choose whether you’re on 4G or 3G it’s down to what the nearest mast/s can provide.

It should show what you are on at the top next to the signal bar.

What network are you with?

Turn on aeroplane mode. Then turn it off again. That might well solve your problem. (Don't ask me why; I just know that it does!)

Thanks I'll try that. I'm with 'ID' (Carphone Warehouse's own network - because I changed from Virgin Mobile after about 20 years because their signal was even worse!).

^^^ ID uses Three's network of transmitting masts.

Still no change. Think I'll go back to Carphone Warehouse and ask them to have a look at it. Thanks for all your advice.
