Urged to update after a very long session I was left without Wifi. I've now heard of 3 others who have had problems.
In case it's helpful, *very much in my own-non-technical words* W10 includes Classic Shell and it was this that deprived me of the Wifi connection. Apparently, W10 does not 'support ' CS but fortunately my guru found a Users? CS site so he was able to delete the W10 version and install an updated one - and it worked.

Just saying, but you don’t get debates like this on Mac forums when Apple brings out a new OS. Apple ain’t perfect, but when I read these constant upgrade-related complaints, I’m glad of my Macs.

Chris (Buenchico) posted about this recently. I asked about upgrading to W10 from W7. He said that going for W10 wasn't necessary. That guy knows what he's talking about, so that's good enough for me. I've looked for the post but can't find it, for some reason. Sorry.

derek-33. The message was to update my existing W10. My laptop was a bad mistake. A cheap Samsung reconditioned job but no sign of any previous use, and although it has a W7 sticker on it it was loaded with W10.
