I do not know if the following can be done, probably not but here goes......On Internet explorer - My Favourites list - Is it possible to have all the favourites listed in alphabetical order? I thought they should automatically go into alphabetical order but mine does not - I am probably doing something wrong......I know its something quite simple and it isn't a 'problem' BUT it is bugging me!!!!! Can anyone help please.

Hi, left click on favorites, right click on any one in the list and left click on sort by name. Easy (I think) let me know

Thank you Camioneur - I LOVE this web site only found it last week but have used it tons since then. Unfortunately, I cannot do it!!! I did exactly what you said - the choices I get when I left click on one of my list are: Expand, create new folder, explore, open, search, (there is then a list of sharing & security) send to, cut, copy, delete, rename and properties, but unfortunately no sort by name. No worries, it was just one of those things that was niggling me. Thanks anyway.
Maybe "sort by name" is an XP thing and you're not on XP perhaps, anyway, sorry I couldn't help further

In IE, right click FAVORITES and untick LOCK TOOLBARS. After that each time you right click on any FAVORITES folder, you will get the option to SORT BY NAME.

....this may well be an XP thing, but you could organize them manually which for me is better.......I get the ones I use most, where I want them......

..Do this by opening the list and then left (or right) click on a favourite, hold the button down and move up or down to the position you want it to be and let go the button.......you can put them in alphabetical order or order of preference this way...........

BTW.....this is in XP, but I seem to remember Win 98SE allowed this too.....commoner. ;-)

Thank you to everyone who has helped me on this one.......................YES! I have done it. I tried the 'unlock toolbar' thing - but that did not work either - but it was easy peesy to sort them 'manually' THANKS Commoner, I can relax now. By the way I am running on XP.

...mmm...so glad you got it sorted.......now we ALL can relax..<G>.........funny why you can't do as camioneur suggested though. Ah well!..can't win 'em all as they say....byeeeee....commoner ;-)

...hmmm...camioneur...commoner..mmm...funny that eh?
