Is there way to merge the text of numerous documents into one big document, but that doesnt just copy them and deletes or flags up any repeated lines of text or paragraphs?

i have a few documents with lots of repeated stuff in and its becoming annoying to wade through them all, so I only want each bit written only once in one place.

any ideas?

thanks :)
(i might post this elsewhere - not sure of best section for it)

I'm not sure if this is useful or even if it works, but there is a combine feature in Microsoft Office.

At a glance it looks as though you can compare before you merge.

thanks - ill check that out
theyre not the same document edited though, theyre like lists, lots of snippets of stuff all, but a lot have been added to other documents and repeated, so not sure it will work, but worth a try!
personally I'd just copy and paste the bits I want into a new Word document, but maybe you're looking for something that will automatically delete duplicate sentences?

thats what caused the duplicates! theres loads of it, and i forget which bits ive copied and it takes forever so want something quicker
