Why Has Windows Suddenly Become Unable To Open Any Of My Documents?
7 Answers
In the usual way, I double-clicked a file in my Documents folder to open it and the message is. 'Can't find C\Users etc. Make sure you have typed the name correctly then try again'.
This applies to all files in the Doc folder.

Display the computer and right-click on C drive > choose Properties > Tools > error checking > check now. The top option will be pre-selected, so run that - Being drive C you will have to close the computer and it will do the check automatically when you restart. If that doesn't do the job repeat the process but tick both options on the error-check. This will take longer but checks the disc and replaces any bad sectors with spares. Depending on the size of your disc this can take hours and the computer will be unusable whilst it it being done, so choose your time carefully.
