Acer Laptop - Opening Docs And Photos In Win10- Help Please
7 Answers
As you will have seen you have all helped me to set up my new Acer Aspire 3 Laptop over the last week. Just one more thing is puzzling me.
On my old Acer when I went into 'documents' and opened a folder marked say 'photos' it instantly loaded all the photos in the folder an I could see each photo so I could open any one to full screen.
Now having transferred them successfully to this new Acer I have just noticed that when I open the folder it might show the first few photos but all the remainder show just a little 'blue mountain icon' with photo ID number underneath so I have know idea which photo it I want to viewis until I click to open it!
Looking in default apps it shows for photos as this 'blue mountain' and alongside it says 'recommended for windows 10' The only other options in default are 'paint'. On my old Acer it also had 'Windows Photo Viewer (which I used) and 'Microsoft Office Picture Mgr(which I also used) These are not on my new laptop.
You all told me how to transfer the files and they all appear perfect except they do not all load as large icons at the same time. Help please!

Try this: Open Windows Explorer (by pressing the Windows key and E together). Click on 'View', then on 'Options'. In the 'Folder Options' pane, click on the 'View' tab. Look for a line labelled 'Always show icons, never thumbnails' and click to REMOVE the tick that I think you might find alongside it. Click 'Apply'. (If that doesn't close the pane, then click...

Have tried everything you suggested (thanks Buenchico for link) but still the same.
I can not see the photos but if I open the first photo file then I can see that and have the option of using the arrow on the photo to go thru them that way. Photos are all there but just not visible all the time as they were before.
Perhaps if I were to load them again from my memory stick that might help?
