Disabling Google Trending Searches
4 Answers
I find it very irritating that whenever I open Google on my PC I am faced with a long list of search suggestions that I have no interest in.
I have tried to find out (by searching on Google, obviously!) how to disable this feature but all that I get are instructions on how to do this on a mobilr phone.
Can someone please tell me how to do it on a PC, running Windows 10 Home, using Google as my preferred search engine?

It's only when I click in the search field that 'trending searches' appears:
https:/ /i.ibb. co/zx0V R3K/Goo gle2.jp g
However that's the first time that I've ever seen 'trending searches' appear because, despite carrying out hundreds of Google searches every day, I never visit Google.co.uk anyway. To the best of my knowledge, all of the main browsers support searching directly from their address bars (and/or from a dedicated search box next to it).
To carry out a Google search in Firefox, I simply enter my search term in the box at the top right of my first screenshot above (where you can see I've typed 'google trending') and click the arrow. However I could achieve exactly the same thing by typing my search terms into the address bar and hitting Enter. (As I've said, that is likely to wok with any of the major browsers). So why don't you just search that way, instead of going to google.co.uk? Then you won't see 'trending searches' appear.

PS: My post above assumes that your browser is configured to use Google as its default search engine. If you're using Edge, which uses Bing by default, you'll need to change things so that it uses Google:
