Area Code For Virgin Media Needed
12 Answers
Complicated, but am trying to close a Virgin account for a friend who has moved out and has no internet or phone. Can't do anything by phone as all their help centres seem to be closed down. Am trying to set up an account with Virgin to close it down online, but don't know the area code for that postcode. Is there a list of them anywhere online?

She never opened an account as didn't use internet. Yes we are the same gender, but I probably wouldn't have the security answers. She has moved out and didn't take a the account details with her. Have been trying to set up an account but I don't have the information, like area code. Can get her on her pay-as-you go so wondered if I can have a 3-way talk on speaker-phones (I don't know how to do a conference and it would probably confuse her), so she can give permission for me to deal with it. Tried to get their "Moving Centre" but that's closed. How do I get a human?
VM is a pain in the backside when trying to contact them. Four weeks ago, I rang them to close my account with them (I've had one for around twenty-five years) and was passed from pillar to post for over an hour. I was transferred from one `technician` to another, on each occasion having to go through security checks. After three attempts, I was passed through to a lady with a thick Indian accent (Mumbai call centre) only to be told yet again that I had been transferred to the wrong department so was transferred for the fourth time. This gentleman turned out to be Scottish, but at least I could understand him compared to the Indian woman. :-)
After a good ten minutes, he claimed to have got it sorted and closed down my account. Based on that, I cancelled my direct debit with them. Yesterday morning, I got a phone-call from VM claiming that I owed them for two months broadband use (over £80) and supplied a number to get in touch with them. That number doesn't give you any options other than to pay the outstanding bill!
After a lot more fri**ing about, I managed to find a contact email address and emailed them politely telling them to get stuffed. Still haven't had a reply from them yet.
