I am rubbish with these things so don't laugh at me for my daft question!

I am buying my son a PS2 for Christmas. He currently has a PS1. I noticed on the PS2 specification I was checking before I order that it requires internet access. Is this correct? We didn't need internet access for the PS1.

Any advice to a worried mum very gratefully received!

You star, thank you so much for getting back to me so quickly. So the PS2 can be used with the internet but you don't need it to play games on. I'm with you!

xx

You don't need net access for most games, but some are playable over the net. Check the back of the games to see which need net access. Most of those that do are also playable to some degree without, but (depending on the type of game) gameplay may be either slightly or greatly enhanced with net access. I think there's a couple that are net-only.

For the most part, most games are playable without net access. Put it this way: if I could afford a PS2, even though I have net access I doubt that the machine would get connected to the net.

yes answers correct.. do not worry about internet access just buy the games
