Am having problems here! When I want to transfer photos or videos which are on my laptop say to another laptop or a memory stik all I do is connect lead and rt click my mouse on the photo etc and a dropdown shows either the other pc or my memory stik and I then left click and it works.

But on my tablet I have no mouse and have no idea how to transfer at all! I have two leads - a micro usb to full size usb and a micro usb to a female usb which takes a memory stik.

As I have always used a mouse I have no idea. I kept my finger on the video/photo but nothing happened, I have my hols photos/videos i can only view on my tablet.

In simple terms please. Thanks you

Does your tablet and laptop have Bluetooth capability? You could transfer them individually that way, rather than full folders. (If you turn it on for both devices). You usually get a code/message pop up on your tablet and there might be a numeric code to confirm the transfer. Right-click on the fils to send and go to Send to and then select Bluetooth device. I simply upload the photos and videos on my android devices to Google Photos and download them on my pc from Google Photos. Very quick and easy, no cables required and the photos and videos are stored 'in the cloud' as a backup.

Thanks Barry1010 but I do not want my photos in cloud - although appreciate this is the easiest way.
Can you tell me......... some time ago I seem to remember when I plugged a memory stik into the Tablet's charging port it came up with an option to charge or to transfer - is that correct? I do have the latest Huawei Mediapad T3 but cannot find the option to click on to transfer. Can you help please?

Right-click on the fils to send and go to Send to and then select Bluetooth device. A box should appear and pick your tablet off the list.

I do it between my PC and mobile phone, rather than removing the micro SD card.

Thanks so much - that worked!

You can delete them from Google Photos after you've downloaded them. If you want to use a memory stick you will need to buy an OTG adapter and not every tablet supports them
My friend recommends this - it doesn't use the cloud, but I haven't used it myself

You are right. I have an OTG cable and it does not work! I thought as my tablet was a newer model it would but it does not support OTG (presumably new model tablet are trying to do away with leads!)
Anyway blue tooth has worked for me.

You can use Bluetooth or android transfer apps for transferring anything. After it gets connected, select a file by tapping on it and then click on send.
