Weird Experience - Haunted Printer
16 Answers
Last night I was watching tv and although the laptop on the desk was on I was not using it. When it was time for bed it had shut down so I closed the lid - which I don't usually do. Just above the laptop is my printer on a shelf. This morning when I came down there was a piece of paper which had come out of the printer sitting on the closed laptop with a picture of a man's face but I have no idea who it is or how it got there! Is it possible for anyone to remotely send a picture to my laptop/printer? Had I not closed the lid I would have thought maybe one of the dogs had pressed something but it is a real mystery!

If they have asked for a print of something whilst using their pc/lappie and not checked which available printer they are asking to print that they may have instructed yours to print. Good job he wasn't naked. :))
G'morning lankeela ......You have said...."When it was time for bed it had shut down so I closed the lid."
Firstly, I would mention that laptops do not shut down of their own accord; an on screen button has to be activated withing the start menu. Leaving a laptop in an 'on position', after a period of time, if unused, will send it into sleep mode and can be reactivated very quickly, without waiting for a 're-booting'.
I think that perhaps your laptop was only asleep and, if your 'Router, Laptop and printer are connected wirelessly, a signal arrived via your broadband and activated your equipment. Certainly Not a paranormal printout.
Out of interest, please let me know how you restarted your laptop for the occasion under discussion and what has been your normal
procedure when the lid is left open. Perhaps then I can think of a real reason which could be along the lines as suggested by Togo.
Hans.

Normally I shut it down the usual way by closing all pages and then pressing the shut down button. Because I was tired last night and it had gone to sleep I just closed the lid, then this morning opened it and pressed the power button which brought it back on to the page I was last looking at. I live alone so nobody apart from dogs here - the picture was weird, a sort of selfie of a smiling man with a beard and glasses filling an A4 sheet rather like something from a horror movie.
