Honor 8 Phone Screwed?

My son has an Honor 8 phone that will no longer turn on. Instead it will just sit on the loading screen forever saying the word Honor.

Sometimes this screen that I've put into this image will come up but no matter what option we pick it simply returns to the Honor loading screen.

If anyone has a cure we'd be very grateful.

The first thing I try with an awkward mobile phone is pressing and holding the power key. That can sometimes bring up relevant options.

If all else fails, try a hard reset but note that doing so deletes everything that's on the phone and returns it back to its 'out of the box' state, so definitely only do it as a last resort!

Hi Chris, thanks for the link. We've tried a lot of stuff and also did a factory reset at a stage but it always reverts back to the Honor loading screen staying on permanently.

Perhaps it's just bucked :(
