Chris - I got the laptop opened and that's it. Because I am an "old" typist I have always liked the rough and tumble keyboard and have used those all my life.

I find the laptop keys too flat that I know I won't be bothered with them.

What does the range go from ie

Computer/Monitor with separate keyboard

Then is it Laptop

Ipad

and Ipod - you know from the biggest to the smallest.

Sister will crack up but if I don't use it it would be a waste (she bought me it)

You could just buy a cheap USB keyboard and plug it into the laptop

An iPod is not a computer, it is a media player.
The range is computer and monitor / laptop / tablet (but some tablets have bigger screens than some laptops) / smartphone

ok I follow and I do know that I can add my own keyboard which makes you have the laptop with its own keyboard, then my added one.

Now this might help you to help me.

I have an Amazon Kindle and have loved it, however the screen is small so what next thing could I buy in that line of thing - I only want something to sit on my knee - watching TV per se. Thanks for your help
Have a look at this Amazon.com User Recommendation
You'll get used to the laptop keys. I now find old keyboards too bulky.
I hated laptop keyboards and had problems using the touch pad a few years ago. I'm now used to the keyboard and have a mouse which I prefer to the touch pad.
I've got a 10" Samsung...and a small Fire. The Samsung is much better on my eyes, or if I want to watch catchup tv.
I have a Chromebook. The touch pad is really good on it.
I bought a laptop stand with a mouse pad which I use when sitting on the armchair. I can't seem to function without a mouse.

When in the office before lockdown, I'd connect my laptop to a widescreen monitor and plug a separate keyboard in.

no I will never get used to laptops keyboards - I am interested in Pastafreak's laptop and perhaps a little bigger if there is one.

all help greatfully received. thanks
Mine isn't a laptop jj...it's a tablet so had a touch screen.
Which is harder to use than a laptop.
Question Author
ok Pasta - could you give me a link please.
JJ...can you not Google? It's an Amazon Fire.
Give me a laptop and no mouse any day. Tablets and touch screens are awful and smart phones even worse (I don't have one but my husband has) - tiny areas to press and minute pics. What's the point?
If you just want to watch TV the 10" Amazon HD Fire will do the job just as well as the Samsung 10" tablet and is cheaper.
Question Author
look - I just want to get rid of this -
diddly, depends what you are doing. I've got desktop pc, a laptop, an iPad and an Android smartphone. Sometimes I much prefer the iPad to the laptop or desktop.
First of all JJ - are you sure you're able to return the HP laptop? It will probably need to be in resaleable condition as you're not returning it due to any fault.
Perhaps you need to do a wee bit legwork yourself by looking on Google to see what all is available?
