The Best Places To Catch Covid
// The most frequent location they went to were supermarkets, followed by secondary schools, primary schools and hospitals.
Public Health England (PHE) released the finding as part of its analysis of the NHS’ Test and Trace app between 9 November and 15 November. //

They shut the restaurants and pubs. Closed the barbers and gyms. Closed the terraces and the cinemas. And it was the supermarkets and schools all along. Who’d have thought it ?

Its not suprising really tho as far far more times spent by peopel in school (35 hours a week for all kids) and shops than in gyms and pubs ( a few hours for those what go) .
Still, its a important area to look at as its a mystery why so many are catching it and dying. Hopefully the information will be backed up my more research and proper analysis. A wonder how may of those in pubs were recorded as Mickey Mouse. Proper figures should help restriction's to be more target'd

Why is it a mystery? It is an infectious disease which is spread from person to person via airborne particles. A very small minority of those who catch it - most usually the older age group or those with underlying health problems - succumb to it often because their immune systems are compromised by either their age, their health or both. What would be a mystery is if it didn't spread and if some people didn't die from it.

Err, because we've been given very clear advice from scientists and the goverments we elected less than a year ago to reduce contacts, stay in/away from others, wear masks, wash hands regular, avoid crowded places, lots of places closed... and yet lots of peopel get it and tens of thousands die... unless off course to many peopel dont follow the guidance and rules and spend more time trying to be clever picking holes in the rules and flouting them???

As far as pubs and restaurants go, I used both extensively in the short period I was allowed to between July 4th and November 5th. All of those that I used had made extensive (and expensive) efforts to be "Covid Safe" (as if there is such a thing). I had no misgivings whatsoever about frequenting any of them. Then they were ordered to close at 10pm (probably one of the silliest decisions of the many silly decisions that have been made) which cost them a packet. Then they got closed down entirely when the likelihood of them being the source of any great number of transmissions was quite low.
Meanwhile I can tootle around my local Tesco's looking at socks and jeans (whilst my local gents' clothing store is closed, probably not to reopen) and I can take my time looking through the Christmas cards (but not buy one in Clintons or Card Factory). However, Mrs NJ and I I can't sit six feet away from our fellow customers in the Spotted Dog, having a bottle of wine and two steak dinners brought to our table, because it's not "safe".
This government will not be content until it has destroyed huge swathes of the hospitality industry by its lunatic obsession with closing it down.

And we've tried our best and it hasn't worked. So what does that tell you?

The DM says dog walkers have 78% higher risk of infection and home deliveries double the risk.
The two things I do.

Yes I did read the rest. That's certainly an explanation.
Much more likely is that people simply cannot stay sufficiently apart to prevent spreading infection whilst undertaking normal everyday activities. Either way, it doesn't matter. The current strategy does not work if the aim is to permanently suppress infections. It may reduce them temporarily, but that's about it. Lockdowns of varying severity have been in pace since last March. Still the virus spreads, as it inevitably will. Since they cannot control people's behaviour to any significant degree, the government needs to adopt a strategy that incorporates the manner in which people actually behave rather than the way it believes they should. Then we may restore some sanity to the nation.
