scanners

My Flat bed scanner, which is a Packard Bell diamond 1200 plus is driving me nuts, when I connect it to my computer, it shows that its connected, the lights are on the scanner, but when I try to use it says its not connected. Can anybody give me some clues as to what i'm doing wrong. Thanks in advance.

When in doubt - reinstall. Do you still have the installation software - if not i'm sure you can download it at the PB website?
