Problem Powering Up

I am running windows 10 on a HP Laptop which a bought about three months ago. Just recently when ever I power up for the first time my screen looks mottled blue/green colour. To get rid of this I press and hold down the power button until black screen appears. I wait a minute or two then power up again with no problems. Is this a hardware or software problem???? TIA

Have you tried updating the graphics driver?
