The Sims 2

Hi, can anyone help.

I recently got The Sims2. I was playing the Goth family. Mortimer died and Cassandra married Darren Dreamer who moved in with them. Alexander still lives with them. Cassandra adopted a toddler - Richard who grew into a straight A student teenager.

I had him studying in an armchair and the others went to work. All was well. I left the computer for a minute (I went to the loo if you're interested) and when I came back Richard had vanished. His little picture was gone and I have no clues as to where.

He is still in the friendship panel for the other Goths but they can't call him on the phone.

Can anyone shed light on this?

Did he not move out to his own place, and once you rehouse him they'll be able to talk to him again.

You have the University expansion yes?

I don't have any expansions, just the basic game.

Could he have moved out of his own accord? without any input from me?
