Metro.co.uk Newspaper Resetting Password

Forgot my password, when I try to reset it, it takes me back to their web page. Help anyone?

You've got me lost!

I decided to find out what would happen when I told the site that I'd forgotten my password, even though I've never had one, in the hope of being able to find a solution to your problem. However there doesn't seem to be a 'sign in' or 'register' link on their home page for me to work from. Where should I be looking?

Click on Comments (in red I think) just below news header, then it says sign in on the right hand side before readers comments. Click that then you can register. I was already registered but couldn’t remember my password. Thanks Chris. Would be interested to see what you can find out!

OK. I opened a random news item, clicked on 'Comment', then on 'Sign in', before telling the site that I'd forgotten my password. That took me to this screen:

If you're not seeing that box, it's almost certainly a problem with your browser. Try clearing its cache and then restarting it. (If you need instructions for clearing the cache, please provide the name of the browser that you're using). Alternatively, simply try a different browser.

Yes I got that, I entered my email address and pressed reset password. Then it took me back to the metro news page. Tried on iPad and phone, same thing.....

Chris - I have been deleting old emails and found something with the subject of Chris and a gmx email address with the name f.....f... Is that yours

Taking you back to the home page is exactly what I'd expect to happen when you enter your email address into the box (at least as far as the Metro site itself is concerned). What should also happen though is that Metro should send you an email, from where you can reset your password.

Have you checked your email (INCLUDING your 'spam' folder)?

(I've just put that email address into AB's search box and nothing comes up, so I've no idea where I posted it!)

Yes Metro sends me the email asking for me to reset my password, so I get the screen as per the link you sent me. I put in my email address, press Reset Password, then it takes me back to their website/news page instead of letting me reset my password!

What happens if you press login on that screen shot and go from there.
