Am doing ok learning bits and bobs

When i voice youtube it comed up. but when i ask again voice thingy not working

Did you sat "Open YouTube", rather than just "YouTube"?

Chris - I got into Youtube ok - as you say pressed the button and just said YouTube. It brought me into YouTube but when I pressed the button again to ask for a little girl I follow - nothing happened. Even the message (when I press the button) never came up.

I've not got Sky but looking at the list of commands that the remote control recognises suggests that you can't use it within the YouTube app. You can only use it to initiate the app:

So you'll need to manually enter your search terms into the search field. If you want to be able to get to certain accounts on a regular basis, it would make sense to subscribe to those accounts using your computer, then go to the Sky Q app to sign into your account there too:

right ok Chris - that makes sense - I think after a while when I start the "regular searching" of say that little girl or regular searching of any other programme - it will be in the search - when I will be looking for her again - her name will automatically come up in the search bit.

As you know I just got the Firestick thing a month or two ago and you just had to talk all the time to it - so that's gone. I hopefully will be able to put that Firestick into my TV upstairs here (nephew could probably could do it if I can't manage it).

That's a bit disappointing for me but you can't have everything. I'll look at the Apps link tomorrow. Thanks Chris

I am just thinking can the Firestick thing be used along with the SkyQ - after all it was in when I had the basic Sky.

The basic Sky was costing me £38 a month but this SkyQ is only £25. Do you think that be ok - I could just stick it back in.

If you've got two (or more) HDMI ports on the back of your telly, Jennyjoan, you can plug one device into each port and then select 'HDMI1' or 'HDMI2' as the source for your TV's signal. That would mean that you've got both devices available to you without needing to continually plug and unplug things.

I am just after looking Chris and I do have the two ports hd1 and hd2 - so I'll give that a go tomorrow.

did like the voice of the Firestick as it took you right to the programme

Right Chris - you are probably in your beddybyes but can I ask before I buy.

I have got the Firestick back into the TV along with SkyQ but because of NO SKY TV LINK/EYE for upstairs TV - I have lost Sky in the bedroom. When I asked the sky guy about upstairs he said something I would have to subscribe more monthly which I don't want to do.

With me having the Firestick downstairs - could it be linked to upstairs or would I have to buy ANOTHER Firestick for upstairs. Thanks

You'd need a separate Firestick (unless you kept moving the existing Firestick from one TV to the other, which I wouldn't really advise).

ok - Chris that's great. I'll buy a better one again - the one I have doesn't have TV control so for the sake of a £5 will get the TV control volume

How does plugging in your firestick downstairs affect your Sky upstairs?
With Sky Q you can have mini boxes in different rooms served by the main box. Your pay one-off for the extra box but you shouldn’t need to do the old multi room subscription

ichkeria - without knowing much about this multi-room business - I just didn't want to be paying any more for the mini thing for the bedroom if it was too expensive - but you know what there is a Sky kiosk in my local supermarket and I might have a wee word with them.
