I've just been infected by Spyaxe. It installed itself as an adware program without my say so, and although I've removed it in add/remove programs, it's still there. It's redirecting my homepage even though my preferred one is still set as the default. It also keeps popping up with a message saying I'm infected with a virus which is accessing my personal details ie passwords, credit card numbers etc. Is there actually a virus doing this, or is this just a ruse to make you run Spyaxe?

Does anyone know how to remove Spyaxe? Ad-Aware couldn't move it. I've found a few differing ideas on forums but I don't know which one to follow. Anyone?
