I Need To Upgrade My Phone
45 Answers
I don't know where to start TBH as I don't really have anyone that could help me.
At present I have one on contract from Tesco at £7.50 a month. I think it's 4gb.
It is running out of data now as I've had It about 3 year. My friend got one under plus net which seemed reasonable priced.
I also have an old type with vodaphone.
I want to pay as little as possible probably on contract a month with more data. HELP.

Your phone has 8 GB of memory built into it but roughly 3 GB of that is taken up by the Android operating system, etc. So that only leaves you about 5 GB for storing app, videos, photos, etc. (For comparison, the Samsung Galaxy A12, that I recommended above, has 64 GB of memory built into it, so you can see that your phone hasn't really got a lot!). You can add to the...

tamaris - there are two ways of buying a mobile phone.
1. Buy it direct from any shop such as Amazon, paying in full. This is not on a contract but will not have a SIM card (the bit you need to use the phone to make calls, send texts and use the internet. The SIM card will also have the phone number). You can buy a SIM card from any network provider - the one that is the best value for your needs. Alternatively, you could use the SIM card from your old phone and keep your phone number.
2. Buy it on contract from a network provider - this is usually a monthly payment that covers the cost of the phone and the SIM card. This usually works out more expensive than option 1 because you are effectively paying interest on the cost of the phone.
I always buy my phone and outright.

Deep breath, tamaris.

What you want to do with your phone - is the camera quality important; do you need lots of storage for apps, videos, music, books, files etc; do you play games; do you make video calls such as Zoom; do you use it to watch tv or stream video such as Netflix; do you want wireless charging; do you use it as a satnav?
How much do you want to spend on the phone? Android or Apple? Is the brand important?
What screen size do you want? Do you want a big screen which means a big phone or do you prefer something more compact?
Do you make lots of calls? Do you use a lot of 4G data (connect to the internet when you are away from home and not connected to a wifi hotspot)?
I've just found this which may be helpful

Haha I don't have a 5 year old here. I take some photos. I have some apps but I can't get Wetherspoons which I want. I use the Lidl one daily. I'm not fussed about music or films as I have a desktop. I use WhatsApp daily.I have a niece in Oz. I use facebook. I phone from this phone I can't phone out on my house phone. It doesn't matter if it's a new number.
Tamaris I have recently upgraded my phone. I have been a Tesco Mobile customer for a few years and so rang the customer service people for advice.
They are extremely helpful and I now have an new phone which is the same price per month, £10, but have a 50p discount for returning customer.
All I had to do was put the sold sim into the new phone and connect the two phones for data transfer. I found it very easy to do and I am no technology expert.
