Everybody keeps banging on about firefox and i used it myself a good 12 months ago.The thing was for some reason it developed a problem where it used to take up to 2 minutes to boot up.This happened on several occasions, now i do use several registry cleaners so i think that somewhere along the line some of Firefox's files got removed from the registry. The problem couldn't even be corrected with a reinstall of the programme only a full reinstall of xp resolved the issue.I got so naffed off that i reverted to the Opera browser which has had no running issues what so ever

Anybody else suffered similar problems?

Mine still takes an age to boot up,so you aren't the only one to have the problem.I tried Opera but just couldn't get used to it so I am still with Firefox.
Did you empty Firefox's Cache every so often? That could be a reson for it taking an age to boot up
I think it depends on which extensions you have installed. I believe the latest (1.5) version is supposed to load quicker, but when I tried the beta version, I had lots of problems with sites I use regularly, plus some of the extensions I rely on were not available. It took me 3 days of hard work to reverting back to 1.0.7, so I'm too scared to try the upgrade at the moment.
