New Suite

Well have started the ball rolling - how far it will go I don't know. But I have visited an upholsterer and showed him the photo of what I wanted - he says he could give me what I basically wanted ie (the puffy arms) and we'll see about the rest as in design in photo - which I'm not fussed about.. foam filled cushions and whatever else.
I got a lovely feeling from him (not personally) LOL but a nice man. He is coming next week to sorta measure up the room. So here goes.
I also said if and when we agree - how long would it take to make and he said 8 weeks so I'm pleased with that. Hope I do like what I'm doing.

It was worth every penny, and surprizingly not that expensive. I wanted one that was higher that I felt I sat on rather than sunk in, and could get up and down easily. Also had the cushions you sit on made firmer than the ones against your back. I have no regrets, best of luck with your new suite.
well Barry - he did bring me into the "work room" and the frame/wood looked pretty good, I will ask him when he comes next week. He has already told me the cushions to sit on will be foam filled and the arms will be fibre which I am happy with.
Many years ago I wandered into a furniture workshop - a very big one and there was nobody about - ie in the next room. I couldn't believe that the stuffing was being made with newspaper.

the suite that I loved - I had for 10 years. All was wrong was the seat I sat on the settee had sunk - had I have known I genuine didn't know - but I could have got it re-sprung. Then I have this one I think about 4 years but never liked it.
But in the 30 years being here and having some second hand suites - I would say about say 6 - oh two of those were new. Altogether about 4 new - God - have lost count now LOL
